The NMR validation taskforce (NMR-VTF), chaired by Profs Montelione and Nilges, was instigated by the wwPDB to provide expert guidance on tools and protocols for the validation of NMR-derived biomolecular structures. In 2013 it published its first public recommendations (Montelione et al.) and has since worked with the wwPDB implementation group to yield an operable NMR validation server, which is now routinely applied to all NMR entries. Prof. Vuister is a member of the NMR-VTF and chairs the related NEF working group; together these efforts continuously aim to drive forward the state-of-the-art technologies in biomolecular NMR structure and data validation and quality assessment.
